Environmental Fund
Paying Back the Environment
The Green-Knight Environmental Fund is a not-for-profit fund that receives contribution from Green Knight and Corporate Program Members as part of their recovery action.
Donations to environmental causes and disaster relief efforts are governed by a fund board that directs when, and where fund contributions should be allocated. The Green Knight Environmental Fund contributes to a variety of environmentally related projects, including:
Community Recovery
Natural disasters occur regularly around the globe. In many cases, lives, livelihoods and communities are dramatically affected. Recovering from these experiences is a critical priority for funding.
Environmental Recovery
Human-made disasters that have immediate impact on wildlife, the natural landscape and biological productivity, have, and whether we like it or not, will continue to occur as long as humanity interacts with the natural world. Funding requirements for quickly timed recovery efforts often overwhelms local communities, and require additional resources in order to reverse the impact.
Biological Protection
Permitting a balance between biological diversity and human use is critical to maintaining health ecologies into the future. The Green Knight Fund works with agricultural, forestry and other land-use groups to help select methods of production that allow for successful business use of the land while allowing environmental wild spaces for resident flora and fauna.
Community Action
Often the best and simplest environmental actions occur at community level with like-minded volunteers work together. Unfortunately an often cited barrier to these actions is funding, which diverts efforts away from the cause, in order to gain the funding required. The Green Knight Environmental Fund keeps the best of these actions moving.
